San Francisco singer/songwriter Jeremy Goodfeather’s debut album “Goodfeather” is a true American hybrid. Joined by band member/percussionist Crow Knight and Bassist Geoff Brannan and fused by the direction and vision of producer Greg Landau, “Goodfeather” is a breath of fresh air, authentic in spirit, beautiful in its simplicity.
Acoustic guitar, funky rhythms, and imaginative bass lines woven together create a sound that is old and new all at the same time.
“ Shine on me” inspired by 7 days of intense meditation with devout Buddhist monks, driven by a hip hop beat box and a soaring melody is an example of the unlikely combinations found on this record. “ Across the Fire” a rare love song from the every day working family man, is nothing but love, with its reggae bass line and pounding chorus. With an unforgettable upbeat blues guitar riff, the chanting on “ Wonderful teacher” and bells of the traditional Native Dancers takes you on Jeremy’s true story journey back to the reservation to bury his mentor, spiritual guide and best friend. Also joined by Native singer songwriter Pura Fe on vocals.
